Netflix is available in Ghana, but paying for it is where many people get stuck. Most of the time, the answer is a card that works for international online payments.

Step 1: see what Netflix accepts for you

When you sign up on netflix.com (or go to your account’s Manage payment info page), Netflix shows the payment methods available in your country. That list is the final word.

Step 2: get a card that works online

  • Your bank debit card: many Ghanaian Visa and Mastercard debit cards work if enabled for international or online transactions. Ask your bank to switch this on.
  • Virtual cards: several banks and fintech apps in Ghana issue virtual cards for online payments, often funded from your account or mobile money. Compare fees and exchange rates.
  • Prepaid cards from banks can also work.

Step 3: subscribe

  1. Go to netflix.com and choose a plan.
  2. Create your account with your email.
  3. Enter your card details.
  4. Netflix charges you monthly until you cancel.

Card declined?

  • Ask your bank whether international online payments are enabled and what limits apply.
  • Check you have enough balance, including possible currency conversion charges.
  • Make sure the billing details match your card.

Save money

  • Choose the plan that fits your screen and number of devices.
  • Download shows on Wi-Fi to watch offline later.
  • Cancel any time from your account page.
Avoid “cheap Netflix” sellers on WhatsApp and Instagram. Shared and resold accounts break Netflix’s rules, often get blocked, and some sellers just take the money.
