Your Ghana Card Personal ID Number (PIN) is needed for SIM registration, banking, MoMo, NHIS, SSNIT, taxes and more. Here is how to find it.
On the card
Your PIN is printed on the front of your Ghana Card. It starts with GHA-, followed by nine digits, a dash and one more digit, in the format GHA-XXXXXXXXX-X.
Take a photo of the front of your card and keep it somewhere private (not your public social media) in case you need the number when the card is not with you.
If you do not have the card with you
- Check documents where you used it: SIM registration SMS, bank account forms, NHIS or SSNIT records, payslips.
- Some apps that verified your Ghana Card show the number in your profile.
- Contact the National Identification Authority (NIA) with your details.
What your Ghana Card PIN is used for
- SIM registration: all SIMs must be linked to a Ghana Card. See SIM registration and your Ghana Card.
- Tax: it is your TIN. See how to get a TIN in Ghana.
- SSNIT: SSNIT numbers are merged with the Ghana Card PIN. See check your SSNIT number.
- NHIS, banking and MoMo verification.
