Your SSNIT contributions are your pension. Checking them now and then makes sure your employer is actually paying, and catches problems while they are easy to fix.
Your SSNIT number and your Ghana Card
SSNIT has merged members’ SSNIT numbers with their Ghana Card Personal ID Number (PIN). If you have not merged yours:
- Dial *711*9#.
- Follow the prompts to merge your SSNIT number with your Ghana Card PIN.
- To check whether the merger worked, dial *711*9# again and choose option 2.
These steps come from SSNIT’s own FAQs.
Check your contributions
The official SSNIT Mobile App lets members view statements, estimate pensions, apply for benefits and access pension payslips. Download it from Google Play or the App Store (check the publisher is SSNIT).
You can also contact SSNIT’s contact centre or visit an SSNIT branch with your Ghana Card.
What to look for on your statement
- Every month you worked should show a contribution.
- The employer name should be correct.
- Gaps can mean your employer deducted SSNIT from your salary but did not pay it.
Missing contributions?
- Compare your payslips with the statement.
- Raise it with your employer’s HR or payroll.
- If not resolved, report it to SSNIT with your payslips.
