Telecel, formerly Vodafone Ghana, sells data through two USSD menus and its app. Knowing which code does what saves you from buying the wrong bundle, or from airtime disappearing on pay-as-you-go browsing.
The codes and rules below come from Telecel’s own Data Bundle Offers terms and its bundle pages, checked in October 2026.
The quick list
| What you want to do | Code |
|---|---|
| Buy data bundles | *700# or *110# |
| Buy the special daily offers (e.g. GH₵4.50 for 1.45GB) | *110# or the Telecel Play app only |
| Check main balance and bundles | *124# |
| Check bundle balances only | *126# |
| Allow or stop pay-as-you-go browsing | *700# |
*700# and *110#: buying data
Telecel’s terms list both *700# and *110# as ways to subscribe to its data bundles, alongside the Telecel Play app and third-party channels such as bank apps. The bundles available include:
- No-expiry bundles (2Moorch No Expiry): from GH₵0.50 for 22MB up to GH₵400 for 253.25GB.
- Daily, weekly and monthly bundles that expire, for example GH₵50 for 6.13GB over 30 days.
- Hourly bundles: GH₵1 for 446MB or GH₵2 for 1.11GB, each lasting one hour.
- Night bundles: GH₵2 for 4.02GB or GH₵3 for 10.03GB, usable from 12am to 5am. See Telecel night bundles.
- Flexi data: type any amount from GH₵0.02 to GH₵999.99 and get data at that band’s rate.
The special daily offers (GH₵2.50 for 501.4MB, GH₵3.50 for 891.4MB and GH₵4.50 for 1.45GB, each for 24 hours) are only on *110# and the Telecel Play app, according to Telecel’s terms.
*124# and *126#: checking your balance
Telecel’s terms give two balance codes. *124# shows your main airtime balance together with your bundles. *126# shows only your bundle balances. More detail in how to check your Telecel data balance.
Stop airtime disappearing on pay-as-you-go
When all your data bundles run out, Telecel blocks data access unless you have allowed pay-as-you-go browsing, which Telecel’s terms price at 11.5 pesewas per MB (about GH₵118 per GB). You can allow or stop pay-as-you-go browsing through *700#. If your airtime keeps vanishing, check this setting first.
Auto-renewal: how it works on Telecel
- No-expiry bundles auto-renew once you have used 90% of the data, if you chose auto-renewal.
- Bundles that expire auto-renew at the end of their validity, if you have enough airtime. If you don’t, Telecel gives you extra time to top up: 1 day for daily, 3 days for weekly and 7 days for monthly bundles.
- Flexi bundles never auto-renew.
If you did not mean to turn on auto-renewal, change it in the *700# menu or ask Telecel customer care.
Rollover and which bundle is used first
If you buy the same expiring bundle again before it runs out, the leftover rolls over. Different bundles sit side by side, and Telecel uses the one that expires soonest first.

Common questions
What is the Telecel data code?
Telecel’s terms list *700# and *110# for buying data bundles. Some special daily offers are only on *110# and the Telecel Play app.
How do I stop Telecel taking my airtime for data?
Pay-as-you-go browsing can be allowed or stopped through *700#. When it is off, Telecel blocks data once your bundles run out instead of charging airtime.
Do Telecel bundles roll over?
Expiring bundles roll over if you buy the same bundle again before the old one expires. No-expiry bundles never expire.
Can I choose any amount of data?
Yes. With Flexi data you can enter any amount from GH₵0.02 to GH₵999.99. Flexi bundles do not auto-renew.
