The Camon Slim is Tecno’s answer to the thin-phone trend. At 6.39mm it is thinner than almost any phone in Ghana, yet Tecno has still fitted a 5,600mAh battery and 60W charging. It was announced in June 2026.

The catch is the camera: there is only one camera on the back. Here are the full specs and who it suits.

Specs come from Tecno’s official pages, mainly Tecno Ghana’s spec pages, which list the versions sold here. Tecno sells slightly different versions in different countries (battery size especially), so check the box and Settings → About phone before you pay. We do not list cedi prices: they change with the exchange rate and between sellers.

About “extended RAM”: Tecno advertises memory as, for example, “16GB RAM (8GB + 8GB extended)”. Only the first number is real RAM. The “extended” part borrows space from storage and is much slower. Compare phones by the real RAM figure.

Design

Thin and light is the whole point. At 6.39mm it slips easily into a pocket and feels very different from the 8mm-plus Spark phones. GSMArena reports a curved unibody with a glass back and aluminium frame. The New Mondrian colour, with blocks of colour inspired by the painter, is the eye-catcher. A thin phone can bend more easily if you sit on it, so use a case.

Battery and charging

Fitting 5,600mAh into a 6.39mm body is impressive, and it is bigger than the 5,200mAh in the thicker Camon 40. Tecno rates it as a “5-year durability battery”. 60W charging is the fastest in the Camon 50-era range, so short top-ups go a long way.

Display

The same class of screen as the Camon 50 series: a 6.78-inch AMOLED at 1.5K (1224 × 2720) and up to 144Hz. Expect sharp text, deep blacks and smooth scrolling.

Performance

The Helio G200 Ultimate is MediaTek’s latest 4G chip, also used in the Camon 50 and 50 Pro. With 8GB of real RAM it handles everyday apps and most games comfortably. Thin phones have less room for cooling, so very long gaming sessions may warm it up.

Camera: the trade-off

The Camon Slim has a single 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, plus a flicker sensor to avoid banding under LED lights. Main-camera photos should be good, but there is no ultra-wide for group shots and no zoom camera. Tecno does not list optical stabilisation (OIS) for this model, unlike the Camon 40 and Camon 50. The 32MP selfie camera is good for video calls and social media.

Camon Slim vs Camon Slim 5G

Tecno also sells a Camon Slim 5G, a separate model. Reports list a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chip and 5G, with a different battery and charging setup. Check the box for “5G” so you know which one you are buying.

Who it suits

  • People who want a light, stylish phone that is comfortable in a pocket all day.
  • Buyers who mostly use the main camera and care about the screen and battery.

Who should skip it

  • Photo lovers who want ultra-wide and zoom: the Camon 50 Pro is the better camera phone.
  • Heavy gamers: a thicker phone stays cooler.
  • Anyone who wants 5G: look at the Camon Slim 5G or the Camon 50 Ultra 5G.

Before you buy

  • Buy from Tecno’s official stores or an authorised dealer, and get a receipt and the warranty card.
  • Dial *#06# and check the IMEI matches the box. Check the model name in Settings → About phone.
  • Check the real RAM and storage in Settings; do not rely on the sticker.
  • If it is sold as new, the box should be sealed. Test the cameras, speakers, charging, fingerprint sensor and both SIM slots before you leave.
  • Water-resistance ratings are lab results. Tecno’s own small print says liquid damage is generally not covered by warranty, so do not swim with any of these phones.
