The Camon 30 launched in April 2024 and was one of Tecno’s best-selling camera phones. It is now two generations old, but its 70W charging and 50MP autofocus selfie camera still beat some newer models.
This guide covers the 4G Camon 30. Tecno also sold a Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G, which are different phones.

Camera
The 50MP main camera has a large 1/1.57-inch sensor with OIS, good for night shots and steady video. The 2MP depth camera only helps with portrait blur; there is no ultra-wide or zoom camera.
The standout is the 50MP autofocus selfie camera with a dual colour-temperature flash. Selfies stay sharp and skin tones look natural even at night, which made the Camon 30 popular with content creators.
Charging and battery
70W Ultra Charge is the fastest charging of any Tecno phone in our list, faster than the Camon 50 series (45W) and the Spark 50 Pro (60W). The 5,000mAh battery is smaller than newer models, but quick top-ups make up for it. Use Tecno’s original charger to get the full speed.
Display
A 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED at 120Hz: sharp, colourful and smooth. Still a good screen in 2026.
Performance
The Helio G99 Ultimate is a proven 6nm 4G chip. It is older than the Helio G100 and G200 in newer Tecno phones, but with 8GB or 12GB of real RAM it still handles everyday apps and most games at medium settings.
Software
The Camon 30 launched with Android 14. As an older model it will get fewer updates than the Camon 50 series (which has a 3-update promise). Check Settings → System update for the latest version on your unit.
Is it still worth buying in 2026?
- Yes, if you can find a new unit at a good discount and value fast charging and a sharp selfie camera.
- Consider newer models if you want an ultra-wide camera, a bigger battery or water resistance: the Camon 40 Pro keeps a 50MP autofocus selfie camera and adds IP68/IP69.

Before you buy
- Buy from Tecno’s official stores or an authorised dealer, and get a receipt and the warranty card.
- Dial *#06# and check the IMEI matches the box. Check the model name in Settings → About phone.
- Check the real RAM and storage in Settings; do not rely on the sticker.
- If it is sold as new, the box should be sealed. Test the cameras, speakers, charging, fingerprint sensor and both SIM slots before you leave.
- Water-resistance ratings are lab results. Tecno’s own small print says liquid damage is generally not covered by warranty, so do not swim with any of these phones.
