Registering for the government’s free One Million Coders programme takes a few minutes. Here is how.

What you need

  • Your Ghana Card.
  • A valid email address you can access.
  • Optional: educational certificates.
  • A phone or computer with internet.

New applicants

  1. Go to the official portal: onemillioncoders.gov.gh.
  2. Choose to register (see the portal’s “How to Register” page).
  3. Enter your details and verify your identity with your Ghana Card.
  4. Confirm your email address.
  5. Log in and choose your course (for example cybersecurity, data analytics, AI or networking).
  6. Choose self-paced online learning or a training centre if offered.

Returning applicants (Phase 2)

If you registered before, you do not need to reapply. Log in with your existing account and select your preferred courses once the Phase 2 portal is active.

Students at partner universities

At the University of Ghana and KNUST, the programme is compulsory for Level 100 students; your university will give instructions. Other partner institutions publish their own guides; GCTU, for example, has a registration guide on its website.

Tips

  • Use an email you check often; course updates come by email.
  • Choose one track and finish it before starting another.
  • If you lack a laptop or internet, choose centre-based learning. See One Million Coders centres.
Registration is only on onemillioncoders.gov.gh and is free. Ignore WhatsApp links and anyone asking for a fee.
