After BECE results, the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) places candidates into senior high and technical schools. Checking where you were placed takes a few minutes.

How to check

  1. Go to the official CSSPS portal: cssps.gov.gh.
  2. Choose the Check Placement option.
  3. Enter your BECE index number in the format the portal asks for (news reports note it may include year digits).
  4. Enter your date of birth as used for BECE registration.
  5. Submit and view your school, programme and residential status.
  6. Download or print your placement form and admission documents as instructed.

Reports on the 2026 exercise say checking is free and that the CSSPS portal is the only authorised platform.

Not placed?

Candidates who were not automatically placed can use the self-placement module to choose schools that still have vacancies. Do it quickly: places fill up.

If something goes wrong

  • Double-check the index number format and date of birth.
  • Try at a quieter time if the site is slow.
  • Contact the GES/CSSPS help channels listed on the portal.
Placement scams: the Ministry warns students not to pay anyone who claims they can help with or change placement. Only use the CSSPS portal.
