AI will not make you a great creator, but it can take the slow, repetitive parts off your plate so you can focus on ideas and personality, the things your audience actually comes for.

Ideas and scripts

  • ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude: brainstorm video ideas, outline scripts, write hooks and titles.
  • Tip: give your own notes and opinions first, then ask AI to structure them. Your voice stays yours.

Editing video

  • CapCut: auto-captions, cutting silences, templates and effects, on phone or desktop.
  • Built-in phone editors on newer Android phones and iPhones can remove objects and fix lighting.
  • For free desktop editors, see free video editing software for Windows.

Thumbnails and graphics

Audio

  • Noise removal tools can clean up audio recorded in a noisy area.
  • Transcription tools turn your videos into blog posts or captions.

YouTube’s rules on AI content

YouTube requires you to disclose realistic AI-generated or altered content, for example showing a real person saying something they did not, altering footage of a real event, or creating a realistic scene that did not happen. You do not need to disclose AI used for scripts, titles, thumbnails, ideas, captions, or cloning your own voice for voiceovers.

YouTube also does not monetise inauthentic content: mass-produced or templated videos, including generic AI content without the creator’s own perspective. See how to use AI tools to create YouTube videos.

Keep it yours

  • Use AI for the first draft, then rewrite in your own words and style.
  • Check facts, especially about Ghana.
  • Do not use other people’s music, faces or voices without permission.

Tools and free plans change often. We name well-known tools that work in Ghana at the time of writing, without prices, because plans and limits are updated regularly.

Common questions

Do I have to label AI content on YouTube?

YouTube requires disclosure for realistic AI-generated or altered content, such as making a real person appear to say something they did not. Using AI for scripts, titles or thumbnails does not need disclosure.

Can AI-made videos be monetised?

YouTube does not monetise mass-produced or templated content without the creator’s own perspective. Use AI to help, but make content that is genuinely yours.

Which tool is best for captions?

CapCut and YouTube’s own automatic captions are common choices. Always check names and local words.

Is AI voice cloning allowed?

Cloning your own voice for voiceovers is fine under YouTube’s disclosure rules. Never clone someone else’s voice without permission.
