The Spark 50 Pro is the top model in Tecno’s Spark 50 range. It keeps the big battery and adds what the cheaper Sparks lack: a faster chip, a better Sony camera, much faster charging and strong water and drop protection.

*Specs come from Tecno’s official pages, mainly Tecno Ghana’s spec pages, which list the versions sold here. Tecno sells slightly different versions in different countries (battery size especially), so check the box and Settings → About phone before you pay. We do not list cedi prices: they change with the exchange rate and between sellers.*

## Which version to buy

| Sold as | Real RAM | Storage |
| ------------ | -------- | ------- |
| 128GB + 12GB | 4GB | 128GB |
| 128GB + 18GB | 6GB | 128GB |
| 128GB + 24GB | 8GB | 128GB |
| 256GB + 24GB | 8GB | 256GB |

Go for 8GB of real RAM if you can. Tecno’s **AI RAW imaging engine** (better noise reduction and HDR in photos) is only available on 8GB-or-more versions.

**About “extended RAM”:** Tecno advertises memory as, for example, “16GB RAM (8GB + 8GB extended)”. Only the first number is real RAM. The “extended” part borrows space from storage and is much slower. Compare phones by the real RAM figure.

## Performance

The Helio G100 Ultimate is MediaTek’s top 4G chip, built on a 6nm process. It is a clear step up from the Helio G81 in the Spark 50 and Spark 50C: apps open faster, games like Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and COD Mobile run more smoothly, and it runs cooler. Tecno also claims its software keeps the phone smooth for up to 6 years (TÜV tested).

## Battery and charging

- **60W charging:** Tecno says 0–100% in about 55 minutes.
- **Bypass charging:** when you game or stream while plugged in, power goes straight to the phone instead of the battery, reducing heat and wear.
- **Three charging modes:** Hyper (fastest), Smart (balanced) and Low-Temp (gentler, cooler).
- **Adaptive AI charging** pauses at 80% overnight and finishes just before you usually unplug.
- **Lifespan:** Tecno rates the battery for 1,900 charge cycles and up to 6 years of use.

Tecno’s own test of the 6,000mAh global model gives about 43 hours of voice calls, 14 hours of YouTube or 8.5 hours of PUBG gaming. The Ghana 6,500mAh version should do a little better.

## Camera

The 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main sensor is bigger than the sensors in the cheaper Sparks, so photos hold more detail and low-light shots are cleaner. You also get Tecno’s FlashSnap fast shutter with AI best-moment selection, Live Photo, and AI Extender, which widens a photo’s edges with AI. The selfie camera is 8MP with flash.

## Display

The 6.78-inch 120Hz screen is smooth but HD+ (720 × 1576). If screen quality matters most, the Camon phones’ AMOLED screens are sharper and brighter.

## Durability

- **IP68 and IP69:** Tecno says it was immersion-tested at 6m for 30 minutes and resists high-pressure water jets. Its small print still says do not submerge it and that liquid damage is not covered.
- **Drops:** SGS five-star certified, passing 41 drop tests, including drops of up to 1.8m.
- **Build:** “6-series aerospace-grade” aluminium frame and a metal ring that protects the camera.

## AI features

- **Ella voice assistant:** press the power button and ask; Ella can summarise, analyse documents and solve homework step by step (with Student and Parent modes).
- **AI Writing:** generate, proofread and summarise text from any text box.
- **AI WhatsApp:** hear incoming messages read aloud on headphones and reply by voice.
- **AI Health Assistant:** estimates heart and breathing rate with the camera. Tecno says it is only available in some countries (including Nigeria and Kenya), so it may not work in Ghana.

## Who it suits

- The best Spark for gamers and heavy users.
- People who hate waiting for a phone to charge.
- Outdoor workers who need a tough, water-resistant phone.

## Who should skip it

- Photo and video lovers: the [Camon 40](https://chale.tech/tecno-camon-40-specs/) and [Camon 50](https://chale.tech/tecno-camon-50-specs/) have AMOLED screens and stabilised (OIS) cameras.
- Anyone who needs 5G.

## Before you buy

- Buy from Tecno’s official stores or an authorised dealer, and get a receipt and the warranty card.
- Dial **\*#06#** and check the IMEI matches the box. Check the model name in Settings → About phone.
- Check the real RAM and storage in Settings; do not rely on the sticker.
- If it is sold as new, the box should be sealed. Test the cameras, speakers, charging, fingerprint sensor and both SIM slots before you leave.
- Water-resistance ratings are lab results. Tecno’s own small print says liquid damage is generally not covered by warranty, so do not swim with any of these phones.
