The Camon 30S came out in late 2024 as a lower-priced follow-up to the Camon 30\. Now that newer Camon 40 and Camon 50 phones are out, it is mostly sold as an older-stock or discounted option.

Here are the full specs, and whether it still makes sense in 2026.

*Specs come from Tecno’s official pages, mainly Tecno Ghana’s spec pages, which list the versions sold here. Tecno sells slightly different versions in different countries (battery size especially), so check the box and Settings → About phone before you pay. We do not list cedi prices: they change with the exchange rate and between sellers.*

## Versions

| Sold as | Real RAM | Storage |
| ------------ | -------- | ------- |
| 128GB + 12GB | 6GB | 128GB |
| 128GB + 16GB | 8GB | 128GB |
| 256GB + 16GB | 8GB | 256GB |

**About “extended RAM”:** Tecno advertises memory as, for example, “16GB RAM (8GB + 8GB extended)”. Only the first number is real RAM. The “extended” part borrows space from storage and is much slower. Compare phones by the real RAM figure.

## Display

A 6.78-inch AMOLED at FHD+ and 120Hz. It is sharp and colourful, and GSMArena lists peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits, so it stays readable outdoors.

## Camera

The 50MP main camera uses a large 1/1.56-inch sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), which is good for night shots and steady video. The 2MP depth camera only helps with portrait blur; there is no ultra-wide. The 13MP selfie camera has a dual flash for low-light selfies, but it is a step down from the Camon 30’s 50MP autofocus selfie camera.

## Performance

The Helio G100 is a 6nm 4G chip, slightly newer than the Camon 30’s Helio G99 Ultimate. Daily use is smooth and popular games run on medium settings. Pick an 8GB RAM version if you can.

## Battery and charging

A 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging. It lasts a day for most people but is the smallest battery in this list of Tecno phones, and 33W is the slowest charging in the Camon range here.

## Is it still worth buying in 2026?

- **Yes**, if you find it heavily discounted and want an AMOLED screen and OIS camera at a low price.
- **Probably not** at full price: the [Camon 40](https://chale.tech/tecno-camon-40-specs/) adds a newer system, an ultra-wide camera, a bigger battery, 45W charging and IP66.
- Older phones get fewer software and security updates, so check the latest update date in Settings → System update.

## Who it suits

- Budget buyers who want a Camon-quality screen and camera.
- People upgrading from a Spark or Pop phone.

## Before you buy

- Buy from Tecno’s official stores or an authorised dealer, and get a receipt and the warranty card.
- Dial **\*#06#** and check the IMEI matches the box. Check the model name in Settings → About phone.
- Check the real RAM and storage in Settings; do not rely on the sticker.
- If it is sold as new, the box should be sealed. Test the cameras, speakers, charging, fingerprint sensor and both SIM slots before you leave.
- Water-resistance ratings are lab results. Tecno’s own small print says liquid damage is generally not covered by warranty, so do not swim with any of these phones.

Because it is an older model, ask if the unit is new and sealed, not refurbished. See [what to check before buying a used phone](https://chale.tech/what-to-check-before-buying-a-used-phone/).
