# How to check your MTN, Telecel or AT number

It happens to everyone: someone asks for your number and your mind goes blank, or you have a new SIM and never memorised it. Here are the quickest ways to find it.

## MTN: dial \*156#

MTN’s own instructions: dial **\*156#** and select **My Number**. Your number is shown, and MTN says no fee is charged for this service.

## Any network: check your phone’s settings

- **iPhone:** Settings → Phone → My Number (or Settings → Contacts → My Info).
- **Android:** Settings → About phone → Status (or SIM status / SIM card status). On dual-SIM phones, pick the SIM.
- **WhatsApp:** open Settings and tap your name; your number is shown on your profile.

Phones do not always display the number, especially with older SIMs. If it is blank, use another method.

## Telecel and AT

- **Telecel:** check your phone settings or the Telecel Play app, or ask Telecel customer care (call **100** or WhatsApp **050 100 0300**).
- **AT:** check your phone settings, the AT Mobile App, or call AT on **100**.

## The fail-safe method

Call or text a friend, or your own second phone. Your number shows on their screen. Save it in your contacts as “Me”.

## Also handy: your IMEI

Dial **\*#06#** on any phone to see its IMEI number. Write it down: you will need it if the phone is ever stolen.

## Common questions

### What is the MTN code to check my number?

Dial \*156# and select the My Number option. MTN sends your number back on screen or by SMS, and says there is no charge.

### How do I check my Telecel number?

Look in your phone’s settings (below), the Telecel Play app, or call someone you know. Telecel customer care is on 100.

### Can I see my number in my phone’s settings?

Often, yes. On iPhone: Settings → Phone → My Number. On Android: Settings → About phone → Status or SIM status.

### Is there a code to see all numbers on my Ghana Card?

In 2023 the NCA said such a code was being developed. Check with your network for the current option.
